Yoga Therapy
Yoga Therapy is a complementary healing modality that goes beyond just the physical, to address various physiological and psychological imbalances that present themselves through the body. Yoga Therapy is offered as a one-one-one session and can benefit anyone, regardless of injury, illness or state of well being. In addition to the physical postures that are predominantly associated with Yoga, there are many other powerful tools that Yoga Therapy has to offer such as conscious breathing, meditation, visualisations, the use of vocal sounds and simple ayurvedic diet and lifestyle modifications.
During your initial 90 minute intake and assessment, I will work with you to identify specific symptoms in order to establish a goal, in which to work towards in a stepwise progression. You will leave your initial session with a uniquely tailored practice to follow at home. While applying your daily practice, you are encouraged to consult me regularly as questions arise and to provide feedback, as this allows for appropriate modification of the practice, as needed in follow up sessions (60 minutes).
Yoga becomes a personal journey as you develop the skills to observe the subtle changes that occur in your own body and mind and the tools to respond to them consciously.
The initial consultation and assessment will take 90 minutes. Dress in relaxed, comfortable clothing. I will create a clear and easy daily Yoga practice for you to follow. Follow-up sessions are 60 minutes and will be based on your needs as you experience changes in your health and your desire to improve your well-being.
