~ PERSONAL BLISS AFTERNOON @ Amma Yoga Studio, Kitchener ~
SATURDAY, DECEMBER 3rd, 2016
I had a lovely time this afternoon at Amma Yoga Studio http://www.ammayoga.ca/ in Kitchener, offering an Ayurvedic Rejevenation Workshop for a group of warm and familar group of ladies (and Dan :)) whom I'd mostly just met that day- but felt like I had known them much longer! A sweet and welcoming space here, I would recommened to anyone wanting to host a workshop here. There is even a complete kids area for the little ones 🙂 Today I shared how to make an Ayurvedic face mask to balance all the 3 doshas (vata, pitta, kapha) a mask to exfoliate and nourish ( 2 tsp milk, 2 tsp oatmeal flour, 1tsp honey, few drops of each of rosehip seed oil and rosewater) complete with rose water eye cover treatments and a head massage treat from your partner. Does it get any better then this?
So, this picture wasn't actually taken today, but who doesn't like a massage train? The only thing missing today... next time... Did you know that Indian Head Massage is traditionally practised in India by grandmothers on their grandchildren? It is revered as a daily and important practise that is believed to increase vitality and longevity. As the Grandmothers age, the children take over-- giving back to them for all the TLC they shared over the years! That's Amore!
So, back to the workshop...
Post face masks, we applied a rejevenation serum that I recently created (rosehip seed oil, apricot oil, sweet almond oil, Frankincense and Geranium essential oil) to soothe the effects of exfoliation and seal in the moisture for days to come. This serum is my favourite DIY creation to date- after a long, exhausting day of school, this one let's your face breathe (I swear I can actually feel it breathing, thats how soothing it is) and it feels oh so uber soft!
Looking forward to the day when I can do this again!
And Thank you to all who came out today.
Ariana- thank you so much for organizing and walking us through a nourishing Yoga Nidra practice
and Lauren for sharing your plethora of knowledge of superfoods and eating with the colour spectrum- pretty cool stuff! Feeling Blessed and Loved <3
PS. A nice light Rose water make-up remover/toner that we used for the face today is a great before bed time ritual. Rosewater, Witchhazel, Vegetable Glycerine, Lavender, Geranium and Frankincense oil and distilled water. This toner can be used after a face mask application, or as a gentle pick me up in the am or a spritz before bed after a long day...sweet dreams...
